Is Starbucks EVIL?

Kenapa pilih untuk duduk sejam di Starbucks kalau $10 tu boleh digunakan untuk beli 1 packet Nescafe 3-in-1 yang cukup untuk cover at least 10 hari punye breakfast? It’s a comical question. Mestila.. Starbucks pakai high quality coffee bean. Pastu tempat cozy. High standard..

But why Starbucks charge relatively high price for a coffee that only cost 1/5 of its selling price? Percayalah.. cost of raw coffee bean x mahal mane pon. Jika anda penggemar kopi-kopi begini dan acapkali meluangkan masa lepak Starbucks and layan secawan overprice coffee; u may have come to a conclusion that somebody is making big big money out of all this. WHO?

Obviously kita akan terpikir tokei Starbucks la.. Or the franchise owner. Bukan semudah itu.. Starbucks will fight for PRIME LOCATION. Location lebih utama. Staff, coffee quality, kemudian.. Tapi siapa control the location? Tuan tanah/landlord. Starbucks do have competitors. Coffee Bean, Gloria Jeans, many more. Bila 3-4 potential tenants berebut 1 strategic location, the landlord will playing them against each other, dictate the terms. The tenancy rate will become variable. So who is going to make most of the money? The one who willing to sell $14 per cup of coffee and have YOU who willing to pay money for them. Of course, the landlords are even richer!! Coffee owner will be moderately rich and tell me siapa yang lepas dating kat Starbucks balik umah naik bas?!!!

So, much of the $10 profit per person they have expected to earn should go on the rent bill. Bukan semua kedai kopi mewah ni make a lot of money. They sometimes only breakeven je..

Kes yang sama 1 – kenapa pop corn kat panggung mahal x ingat punye – padahal there was no pop corn shortage pon.. Psr mlm pnye pop corn colourful lagi. Murah plak.

Kes yang sama 2 – Kenapa rumah kat bangi mahal dari umah kat parit jawa muar. Again, location..

Kos sewa tend to increase, is a natural outcome of the power of scarcity. Kadang2 scarcity is a situation that was created by the coffee owner(Starbucks). They willing to pay more on rent and has an agreement with landlord that direct competitors(Coffee Bean) will not be allowed right next door.

Peniaga x berlesen kat tepi jalan sekali kene rush ngn majlis perbandaran cabut trusss… walaupon kita blm bayar duit sirap ais kat dia. Sewa kn free.. lesen pon xde. Xrugi pape.. brp la sangat modal buat air tu…

Jangan blame Starbucks 100% sebab kopi dia mahal. Blame the CAPITALIST IDEALISM.
